Nano Bookings to Commence in March or April 2009

Tata Motors is likely to start Nano bookings from March or April 2009. The company has send the prototypes of the car to three different cities of Uttarakhand for testing.

Head of Tata Motors' engineering department, Nagbhushan, said that the three cities where the prototypes are sent include Dehra Dun, Almora, and Ranikhet. Thereafter, the company would start the Nano bookings.

Last week the Uttarakhand government has also provided an additional 45 acres of land to the company to help to roll out the world's cheapest car soon.

The Nano was originally planned to be launched commercially in October 2008 but the land issues at Singur delayed the launch of the car.

In addition to the Uttarakhand facility, Tata Motors also plan to manufacture the Nano from various company's facilities including the Pune and Pantnagar facility.
