The launch of Tata Motors compressed air car may get delayed. There were speculations that the car would make its debut by the end of this year.

The company is still working on the compressed air engine technology and the development is in embryonic stage.

In the year 2007, an agreement was signed between the Tata Motors and France's MDI to apply the compressed air technology for engines in India. The project was still in its developmental stages when the deal was signed in early 2007.

The MDI’s air car is not only affordable but also eco-friendly. The car that has already passed the official crash tests will carry the body made up of fiber and foam. In future the joint venture has also plans to develop new and cost saving technologies for the Indian market following severe environmental regulations.
