Indian auto giant Tata Motors will unveil a new compact car, PIXEL, based on its micro-car Nano platform at the 81th Geneva car show on Tuesday. The three door Gull Winged small car, currently at a concept stage, will be an experimental model for the European market. The car is expected to have Nano size dimension, but will feature larger interior design, developed keeping in mind the European customers.

Tata Motors executive at the Geneva Motor Show has confirmed the unveiling of the PIXEL by Tata Chairman Ratan Tata but refused to divulge any details.

“It is one of the most promising car from the Company is all I can say,” said a senior organizer for Tata Motors. Tata Motors executives at the Show neither confirmed nor denied the unveiling of PIXEL.

The Tata PIXEL will be different from the five door Nano Europa that the company had earlier planned for the US and European market. Tata is yet to make an official announcement about the powertrain of the car. PIXEL is a ‘concept car’ engineered for maximum interior space and may enter the European market in 2013.
