Suzuki Kizashi
Maruti Suzuki which has proved as the largest small car maker in the country is yet to shed its small car maker tag at the earliest and wave in the unexplored waters of the big sedans in India. Suzuki Kizashi is the sedan that Maruti Suzuki is banking on to piggy back in the sedan market in India. Suzuki Kizashi, a four door sedan will plunked in with a more fuel-efficient 2.4-liter engine and is expected to be competitively priced between 10-12 lakhs. This premium mid-sized sedan is a little smaller when compared to its competitors Honda Accord and
Toyota Camry and will come with six speed manual version or CVT. This “Sports Sedan” as Suzuki often maintains, will have twin silencers in the rear which are integrated to the rear bumper to give a sporty feeling. The car is spacious beyond expectations both in the interior section as well as styled to perfection on the exterior. We are sure that this sedan will make more than few heads turn and will give some serious competitions to other contenders in the block.
Volkswagen Phaeton
Volkswagen, in its bid to capture more than a 10th of the Indian car market is all set to unleash its beauties in India in 2010. One of the cars coming from the VW stable is the Phaeton, a luxury redefined premium class car from the humble people's car maker. This car also is one of the most expensive cars to be rolled out from the VW factory. VW Phaeton has got all the right German Engineering coupled with finest craftsmanship. The exteriors may be of a plain Jane look when compared to other German competitors already plying in India, but is the interiors of the car which is matchless and reeks of opulence and luxury in equal measures. Draped in ‘Vienna Classic’ leather upholstery, the interiors are more like a drawing room, with Eucalyptus wood decor, seats with fulsome mattresses and personalized air conditioner. Rolls Royce Ghost
India is very familiar with Rolls Royce ever since it was patronized by the erstwhile Rajas and Maharajas in India during pre-independence years. Rolls Royce will be back in town with its fourth offering after RR Phantoms, Phantom-Coupe and Phantom Drophead coupes, called Ghost in 2010. This Rolls is just smaller in proportions when compared to the RR Phantoms, Phantom-Coupe and Phantom Drophead coupes, but larger in terms of features. The best part about it is that keeping the tradition, Rolls Royce will provide Indian consumers the choice of personalizing their car.
Ghost is refined and cosseting, power-driven by twin turbo 6.6-litre V12 engine. Having a top speed of 155 mph, the car is coupled with 8-speed ZF gearbox, which can accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 4.9 seconds. Systems such as Active Roll Stabilisation, four corner air springs and Variable Damping Control operate as one, imperceptibly to the driver and passengers to provide the best possible comfort for occupants. An all new and extremely sensitive air suspension connected to the main computer will detect the movement of a single rear passenger from one side of the seat to the other, and will compensate accordingly. It would be available in India for a neat 1.5 to 2.5 crores.
Hyundai Avante
Hyundai Avante is the replacement for the phased out model Hyundai Elantra, Hyundai Avante is a fourth generation D-segment sedan. This car has already replaced the Elantra in the international market. Avante is a treat for the Indian customers as it has a lot to offer to the Indian customers. Hyundai Avante has the exotic Korean styling on its exterior and lush and spacious interiors that makes the occupant of the car feel like home. It comes with a 1.6-liter CRDi diesel engine and 2-liter DOHC petrol engine and will draw swords against competitors like that of
Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Skoda Octavia, and Chevrolet Optra. It will come with an anti-braking system that provides a comfortable ride. The trump card of the Hyundai Avante is the price in which it comes, around 11 lakhs , that makes an excellent choice for drivers looking for modern sedans in low budget. Hyundai certainly would not make a mistake that it did once with the Elantra in India when it comes to the pricing part.
Porsche Panamera
Porsche Panamera is the latest offering from Porsche. T his 4-seater, four-door, front-engined with rear-wheel drive luxury sedan with a four-wheel drive version was first unveiled in the 13th Auto Shanghai International Automobile Show in Shanghai, China on April 2009. This certainly is one of the best of the lot when it comes to exotic cars that will be launched in India in 2010. Porsche Panamera is a sleek high performance car with generous amount of luxury thrown in at the interiors that carries all the genes of the Porsche brand to its pinnacle. Porsche just rolled the 10,000th Panamera from its factory in Leipzig, Germany a few weeks back. Panamera, a combination of the sedan and coupe is available in three models, the Turbo, the four wheel drive 4S and the rear-wheel-drive S.
Porsche Panamera is expected in India with a 4.8 litre V8 engine, that churns out around 500 bhp. There is more in the offering with this sedan, the customers get the option of interior customisation as well. Panamera will be priced between1.5 crores and 2.5 crores.
