Body and Styling
The
BMW 3 series has a unique sporty design that differentiates the car from the competitors. The car exterior is loaded with double-kidney grille and is outlined with a rounded, brawny appearance. The front corners of the car are highlighted with clear-lens xenon swivel headlights and the back corner shave L-shaped red taillights.
The Mercedes-Benz C class is available with refined styling and vintage features that epitomize elegance, luxury and comfort. The car is adorned with quad-ovoid headlights, revised taillights, fender flares and sleeker lines, narrower than BMW. The
alloy wheels add to the classiness of Mercedes C class.
The Audi A4 is introduced with a completely different look with a touch of Latin design. The car exterior is embodied with a new door panels, rainbow of colours and swarm of innovative mechanicals. The headlights are placed ardently at the front corners and the rear lights wrap the side aesthetics of the rear end.
Classy Interiors
The interiors of BMW 3 series is embodied with extravagant features including vintage seat, simple dash equipped with analog gauges, multifunctional steering wheel, green strip windscreen, automatic air conditioning, electric mirrors, tilt steering, central locking system, and six-CD changer. The car interiors are embellished exclusively with defined wood trims and upholstery.
Mercedes C class has better interiors as compared to the BMW cars. The excellent car is personified with elitist instrumentation, rear armrest, thermatic automatic climate control, cruise control, dust filter, height and backrest adjustable front seats, electric mirrors, beam head lamps, halogen fog lamps, green tinted insulated glass, and powerful audio system.
The Audi A4 is equipped with cockpit, tilted controls, MMI screen and 14 speaker Bang & Olufsen music system. This powerful music system has the ability to convert an executive car into a concert hall just by a single twist of a knob. Apart from this, the car holds exclusive features like front center armrest, optional climate comfort seat upholstered in Milano leather. Other leather choices are also available.
Engine and Transmission
The BMW 3 series is available in three variants with the engine capacities of 2-2.5L petrol and 2L diesel. Both the petrol and diesel engines are available in 6-speed automatic transmission generating a torque of around 136-218 bhp and 156-169 bhp, respectively.
The Mercedes-Benz C class is available in petrol and diesel versions with engine capacities of 1.8L petrol, 2.2L diesel and 6.2L V8 petrol. The petrol version generates a torque of 178 bhp and 457 bhp, respectively. The diesel engine is a common rail diesel injection generating a maximum torque of about 170 bhp. The car is available in different transmissions, 6-speed manual, 5-speed automatic and 7speed AMG Speedshift transmission.
The Audi A4 is available in both petrol and diesel engines. The capacity of petrol engine is about 3.2L, generating a torque of about 261 bhp, whereas the capacity of diesel engine is 2.0L, providing a torque of about 140 bhp. Both the engines are available with 6-speed automatic transmission.
Driving Comfort
The BMW 3 series is a rear wheel drive system outfitted with automatic transmission. All the three factors of driving components including acceleration, gear shifting and cornering perform well, giving maximum driving comfort. The car gives an excellent blend of comfortable drive and powerful handling.
The Mercedes-Benz C class gives a blissful driving experience. Due to the presence of multiple transmissions, the car is capable of adapting to different driving styles. It gives comparatively higher stability at high speeds.
The
Audi A4 also gives a joyful and comfortable driving experience. The drive select system installed in the car allows the driver to switch over between different modes safely and effectively. The car also holds the ability of steering and stability control.
Fuel Economy
Fuel economy of the BMW is lower than that of Mercedes C class. The car gives a fuel economy of around 7 kmpl in city driving and around 10.6 kmpl on highways.
The Mercedes C class gives higher fuel economy of about 7-10 kmpl in city and about 10-15 kmpl on highways when compared to the BMW cars. The fuel efficiency of Mercedes cars is comparable to the Audi cars.
The Audi A4 fuel economy is not that good because of the all wheel driving system. It also has a high compression ratio of about 12.5:1 that further reduces the fuel efficiency. Inspite of bad fuel economy, the Audi A4 have better fuel efficiency of about 11 kmpl in city and 13 kmpl on highways when compared to the BMW and Mercedes cars.
Safety Measures
The BMW 3 series is loaded with a number of advanced safety features including anti-lock brakes,
airbags, alloy wheels, fog lamp, and traction control.
The Mercedes-Benz C class cars are wrapped with high-end safety features including front and side airbags, anti-lock brakes, tilt steering, traction control, height adjustable belts, child proofing, automatic child seta recognition, automatic locking doors, and electronic immobilizer.
The Audi A4 is also loaded with similar safety features like that of BMW and Mercedes. The common safety devices in Audi cars are anti-lock brakes, traction control and tilt steering. The only feature that differs in A4 is the drive select system that adds to the safety measure and enhances the driving pleasure.
