Attractive Exteriors
Indica Vista and Maruti Suzuki Swift both have attractive body structure with almost the same kind of appeal. The only difference is in the types of headlights, grille, and tail lights used to adorn these cars. Even the colours used to paint both the cars are of various hues and shades of colours.
With such a high level of similarity in the exteriors of Vista and Swift, both the cars still hold their uniqueness and elegance in the Indian car market. Swift is already in the market from the past many years whereas Vista has made its own place in a very short period of time.
Roomy Interiors
The spacious and roomy interiors of Maruti Suzuki Swift hold a perfect and sporty combination of steering wheel, dash and center console. It gives a solid feel to the driver. Driver's seats do not have any kind of adjustments with respect to seat height. Though the car has a slightly cramped rear, it is a good city car with generous door pockets, good boot space, and sufficient space to rejoice the interiors.
On the other hand, Tata Indica Vista has a slightly bigger and spacious cabin as compared to the Swift. The car gives airy feel with bright and beige interiors. The dashboard is passionately textured with good finish. An instrument cluster is positioned centrally for better driver's visibility. Driver's seat comes with height and lumbar adjustment. Door pockets are small but there is a storage space under the hand brake lever.
Engine Performance
Maruti Suzuki Swift is a wonderful car with a peppy CRDi fuel injection system, delivering 75 bhp at 4,000 rpm. Swift has the capability to accelerate with a faster pace and sprint from 0-100 in just 13.87 seconds. The car runs upto a maximum speed of 160 kph and effortlessly gobbles kilometers.
Indica Vista also used the same fuel injection engine technology but holds the Quadrajet moniker. The noise and vibration produced by the Vista engine is comparatively more than the Swift but the pulling power is praiseworthy.
Ride and Handling
The riding quality of the super successful car Swift is as swift as its name. The best part of this car is the Indian suited suspension system that helps to tackle speed breakers and bumps. Though the car gives a bumpy ride at too low speed, it offers brilliant ride at higher speeds. With a short wheelbase, lower-profile tyres and stiff springs, the car delivers a decent fuel economy of about 11 kmpl in city and about 13 kmpl on highways. Despite of the low-profile tyres that disturb the ride and handling, Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the best diesel hatchbacks in the market.
The Indica comparatively has a wider wheelbase that gives the car a good stability and traction control. The soft suspension absorbs all the bumps and breakers with ease and is tuned to deliver a comfortable ride. The car gives a comparatively better riding experience especially at lower speed.
What do you say? Will Tata Indica Vista Coup Maruti Suzuki Swift? Or will they both run side by side in the Indian car market with their own pros and cons?
