Blue&Me Technology
Blue&Me is a voice-activated in-car entertainment system designed by Fiat Group in association with Magneti Marelli (part of Fiat Group) and Microsoft Corporation. This advanced technology is purely based on a modular structure that allows connectivity to all wireless communication systems and media players. It also provides a hands-free system along with USB and Bluetooth interfaces.
This sophisticated voice-activated system enables the driver as well as passengers to make and receive calls, have incoming messages read aloud, and also flick between the favourite tracks on individual media players. Excitingly, all these functions are performed completely on voice control.
The system works in synchronization with Bluetooth. It takes less than five seconds to automatically connect to phone if in case there is a phone call. To answer calls, the driver only has to press a button on the steering wheel whereas to make a call, he/she can either scroll the contact list on the dashboard or use voice recognition system. With the same push of a button mounted on the steering wheel, the system will automatically read if in case there is a message received on the driver's mobile phone. To enjoy a collection of music tracks the driver just needs to plug the USB stick to this entertaining system. The same button is also used to browse and play the desired track.
In India, this advanced and entertaining Blue&Me technology is available in Fiat 500 and Fiat Linea.

Dualogic System
Dualogic system is an innovative self-shifting transmission. The primary objectives of this system are to offer better performance and better fuel efficiency.
With the introduction of Dualogic system, Fiat takes fuel efficiency and driving dynamics to a new level. It bears a conventional clutch, gearbox, small actuator unit, and a highly intelligent computer. The system offers a choice of placing the car in automatic or manual mode. If the system is switched to 'Manual' mode, the driver needs to flick the gears and extra efforts are put in by the system. If the driver puts the system to 'Automatic' mode, the small actuator operates the clutch and moves the gears, taking full control of the car. It is smart enough to adapt to changing speeds, driving conditions, and road conditions. It can also access deceleration and adjust downshifts. In addition, the intelligent computer system or the robotised electronic management system enables the gears to be automatically changed when the car is at its peak performance.
The advanced Dualogic system also reduces fuel consumption, minimises emission, and maintain the required comfort level. At present, this technology is not available in any of the Indian cars.

Multijet technology is a breakthrough in diesel engine technology with more control over combustion process. This advanced engine technology helps deliver low emissions, high fuel efficiency, better fuel consumption, smoother ride quality, and improved responsiveness.
It is actually an advancement of the original common-rail diesel engine technology. The traditional common rail engine used two injections of fuel into the cylinder to radically improve levels of noise and vibration. Fiat felt the need to further improve the technology and then the new multijet technology was born with allows up to seven injections of fuel into the engine's cylinder.
This advancement in the diesel engine enables the engine control unit to optimise combustion for every combination of engine speed and accelerator pedal. In the Indian car market, all Fiat's diesel cars use the multijet technology. It is also used by Maruti Suzuki in few of its models including the popular hatchback Maruti Suzuki Swift.

This new concept is based on the conventional 4-cylinder engine that is downsized to a 2-cylinder turbocharged engine. In addition to provide lower emissions and reduce fuel consumption, the Multiair engine also helps reduce the overall weight and volume of the engine whilst maintaining the same power output.
The innovative Multiair system consists of electro-hydraulic valves instead of throttle valves and controls the air in controlled-ignition petrol engines. It helps optimise combustion efficiency and offer considerable advantages with regards to power output, torque, consumption and emissions. Maintaining a constant air pressure upstream, the Multiair engine also adds more excitement to the driving experience.
Till date, no Indian cars are equipped with this advancement.

EcoDrive System
EcoDrive is a new system introduced by Fiat that enables drivers to gain better insight into their driving style. It is actually a way to promote ecological driving that directly influences fuel consumption and emission of air pollutants.
The system uses the USB port to record the driving traits and then transfers the information to the car's computer. This information displayed on the computer helps to analyse complete details of fuel consumption and emissions of every journey, eventually placing impact on the eco-aware driving ethic.
