Appearance is the first criteria that form the basic impression of any car model, whether new or used. In case of a used car, the resale value deliberately reduces if the car is spotted, rusted and dull. This calls for car detailing.

Car detailing is defined as the organised reconditioning, rejuvenation and protection of the various car parts, both interior and exterior. ‘Organised’ simply means specific procedures and techniques used in an orderly manner to put deliberate changes in the car interiors as well as exteriors. Reconditioning means altering the form and condition of the car to meet the original condition and rejuvenation means giving a new lease of life to the car through upgrading and innovative technology. After all is done, protection plays an integral role. Protection is a way of maintaining the impressive look of the car that is reconditioned and revitalised to gain a feeling of contentment.

Interior Car Detailing


  • Vacuum the carpets, mats and upholstery to clean them. Wash them using a mild shampoo and warm water. Let them dry in sun
  • Use wet vacuum on the car seats to remove stains and refresh the look
  • Remove small scratches from dashboard, door panel and speedometer
  • Scrap off the dust and fingerprints from the music instrument using a blow dryer or anything that can blow pressurised air
  • Vacuum the side pockets and clean off the dirt with a damp cloth
  • Use a separate cloth to clean the interior car moldings
  • Wash and clean the glass well with water or using glass cleaners
  • Treat vinyl areas like dashboard and door panel with conditioner so as to keep vinyl pliable.

Exterior Car Detailing


  • First clean the wheels and tyres well with water
  • Get rid off the dust, dirt and wax residue from the wheels
  • Then, consider the scratches on the car paint and carefully sand them with wet or dry grit
  • Wash cars under shade or in cooler temperature, preferably during early morning or late afternoon. Direct sunlight can cause severe damage to car polish and wax
  • Always use a formulated car wash or a mild detergent to wash cars
  • Use a 100% terry cloth to clean the car and rub off the dirt from the exterior panel
  • Indulge a habit of spraying water to the car everyday
  • Rinse the car well after applying soap or car wash or else the soap will dry on the car paint and spoil the look
  • While washing the car windows, don’t neglect the edges. Let the car dry completely before rolling down the window
  • Ensure that there is no accumulation of wax between the panels
  • License plate if often ignored while cleaning a car. Gently scrap out the bug and tar residue from the plate
  • There is incredible amount of bug accumulation on the rear mirror. Clean those using glass cleaners.
  • Use a separate towel to remove the dirt from the gas cap
  • Use a clean polish to remove any kind of contaminants and then wax the car
  • After the car dries completely, clean the headlights bucket
  • Wash the car at least once a week to keep the harmful elements like dirt, dust, spills and rain acid away.
