The Porsche Carrera GT is a mid-engined sports car that was manufactured by Porsche in Leipzig Germany. This car was released in 2004 costing a bomb at more than $400,000. The Carrera GT is powered by a 5.7 litre V10 engine whereas the original concept car featured a 5.5 litre version rated at 558 bhp. The acceleration, Porsche claims, is 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds with a max speed of 330 km/h. Only 1200 of these adorable beasts were ever built for those who do not value the moolah but speed.

With a base price of US $ 495,000, Mercedes had hoped to sell 500 cars annually, but when production ceased in 2008, less than 600 cars had been made in six years. The SLR sports a 232 kg hand-built 5,439 cc, supercharged, all-aluminium, SOHC V8 engine which can achieve a 100 km/h time in 3.6 seconds and had a top speed of 334 Km/h.
