From Maruti Suzuki Swift to RC Sports Coupe

The journey of Maruti Suzuki Swift in the Indian car market is accelerated and successful with all the advanced technologies and futuristic features. It is truly been said that this great car gives a tremendous feeling of driving a technology.

On its successful journey, Swift also faced remodeling or redesigning of its original model. This redesigning of the car eventually changed the aesthetics, performance, and drivability of the car. Transformed to a sports coupe, Swift has won hearts of millions.

The aspiration behind the remodeling started when the Royal Challenge (RC) associated itself with F1 racing event. The company became the associate sponsor of the India's Formula 1 team event and planned a sports coupe for the winners.

Being the sponsors, the company wanted a racing car that can well fit to the aesthetics and characteristics of the racing event that includes living on the edge style, speed, cut throat competition, performance, and power. All these characteristics are a clear reflection of the RC’s values and that’s what RC wanted for the cars that were supposed to be gifted to the race winners.

Royal Challenge gave a brief on his requirement of six sports coupe and the company was amazed to get the best cars that emanated peace and passion of a Formula 1 enthusiast.

The remodeling of Swift to a sports coupe was undertaken by Prashant Chandra, owner of Moon Shop in Delhi. He took nearly about two months to give the car the desired appeal and performance.

The car was designed artistically by borrowing design cues from the renowned and quintessential supercars zipped on the roads of global market. The brilliant and sporty styling includes aggressive stance and crisp lines merging into soft curves. The well crafted design represents the undying forcefulness of the car that is balanced with the rational counterpart. Furthermore, the interior is also given a vivid sporty look comprising a vibrant combination of red and black.

The entire process of remodeling was done in the Moon Shop garage in Delhi. When Mr. Prashant successfully rolled out the car, excitement and astonishment had hit the market. Royal Challenge, sponsor of the racing event, was speechless.

This sleek two door car, the redesigned Swift, is now re-christened as RCFI. Everything has changed including the appeal and the interiors, eventually reflecting the true characteristics and values of RC consumers. However, the car engine remains the same as the multi-injection 1.3L petrol engine.

This journey of Maruti Suzuki Swift from a four-door hatchback to a two-door sports coupe was more interesting, dynamic, and astonishing, rather than being just successful.
