Chevrolet Cruze (Manual Transmission) has a 1.8-litre in-line 4 engine, and it gives an amazingly unbelievable fuel efficiency of 18.27 kmpl.

Maruti Suzuki EstiloWith the entry of so many small cars in India, one would think Estilo won't make it to our list of top ten fuel efficient cars. But Estilo, with a fuel economy of 18.2 kmpl, gives a tough competition to its counterparts and makes it to our list at the sixth position.

Estilo is powered by the same 1.0 L K-Series 3-cylinder engine, which is featured in the A-Star, and produces a maximum power of 67 bhp@6200 rpm. The engine is paired with a 5 speed manual transmission which enhances the car's fuel efficiency.

Hyundai i10Hyundai car give competition to Maruti Suzuki with its amazing line-up of compact cars, which are not only good looking but also boast of fuel efficient engines.

The Hyundai i10 features a 1.2-litre Kappa, four-cylinder engine with double overhead cam shaft (DOHC) and breathes through 16 valves. Peak power of the car is rated at 79 bhp at 5200rpm. The fuel economy of the car, at 18.06 kmpl, secures a place at the eighth position.

The Hyundai i10 1.1 litre gives an amazing mileage, just a little behind its 1.2 litre twin, of 17.83 kmpl.

Maruti Suzuki Ritz BS IVLast but not the least, the Maruti Ritz makes it to our list at the tenth position. The car offers a mileage of 17.7 kmpl.

The Maruti Suzuki Ritz features a BS IV compliant K12M petrol engine. The1.2-litre petrol engine can produce a maximum power of 85 bhp. The new K12M engine uses plastic parts, shortened piston skirts, and raisin coatings on the piston to keep the engine low weight low. Moreover, the engine gives improved performance with high grade engine oil, high-tech spark plugs, plastic intake manifold, and DOHC camshaft. All these features make the engine highly fuel efficient.
