Top 50 Sports Cars of the World - Prelude

We welcome the Indian spring season to our readers in a fresh new style. In Carazoo.com, we have been wreaking our brains to come out with a list of sports cars that really meant something very special to each of our readers. A Sports Car is a performance focused vehicle with two doors and usually two seats, although 2+2 configurations are acceptable beneath the subcategory of luxury-minded vehicles called Gran Touring cars.

There were exclusive cars, classic cars and a few proven new comers that we had to deal with while coming up with this list of cars that everybody would WOW at. This list of cars contains more than just a list of the podium finishers in the power, acceleration, and lap time segments.

We had more than one difficult challenge in front of us in choosing the deserving cars.

For their significance within their historical context
Of recognizing cars that broke the mold in their day and yet have retained their charisma through the ages
Of searching cars that have made a real impact on the common drivers of the world
Set a course for a new design language, introduced a new technology, or revised our understanding of what is beautiful.

To place all these cars in the List of Top 50 Sports cars the World was really mammoth in size as never before have so many relatively new cars been so deserving of a place among the all time greats and the task of comparing nostalgia to newness is impossibly subjective.

Of course, we also mention here that this is the list of Top 50 Sports cars of the World and not performance cars, beautiful cars, best selling cars or the most popular cars. We could have added more cars in the list, but we are not fans of any particular brand of cars here and thought of doing justice to what we write and list. We also provide the engine size, horsepower and available performance figures of each car that is in the list for your reference.
