Top 10 Most Expensive Cars in the World

All of us revere and cherish the super luxury expensive cars, but few have the luxury to own them. It is a fact well known that expensive cars are one of the most favourite men's toys. Most of us don't have the money to buy these cars, but indulging in some fantasy read does not really cost anything. Here is a list of some seriously expensive and equally lust-worthy cars.

1. Koenigsegg Trevita: $2.21 Million

The company produced just three units of the Koenigsegg Trevita. The car's design is based on Koenigsegg CCXR and but the new and most spectacular features is the shimmering diamond carbon fiber, named "Trevita" which in Swedish means "three whites".

Those three cars are fully equipped with Koenigsegg Shimmering Diamond Weave bodywork, using double carbon wing, paddle-shift, inconell exhaust system, carbon ceramic brakes with ABS, hydraulic lifting system, infotainment system, tyre monitoring system, chrono instrument cluster and special airbags.

The supercar is powered by a 4.8-litre V8 that can churn out a maximum power of 1018 bhp. The Trevita can touch 100 kmph in 2.9 seconds, going on to a top speed in excess of 400 kmph.

2. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport $2 Million / $1.67 Million for coupe version

The Bugatti Veyron has the reputation of being the fastest production car in the world, but surprisingly it is not the most expensive car in the world. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport is a topless version of the Veyron. The car uses the same The Veyron features an 8.0 litre W16 engine of its sibling.

The car is currently not available in India, but it is going to arrive in the country by next year.

3. Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster: $1.8 Million

The company made just five units of the Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster. The supercar is rare, good looking and fast. Only five units of this car have been made so far. The supercar is powered by a 678 HP Mercedes AMG V12, and it takes just about 3.4 seconds to reach 100 kmph. It does a top speed of217 mph. The body of the car is made from carbon titanium.

4. Lamborghini Reventon Roadster: $1.56 Million

The Lamborghini Reventon Roadster is the most expensive car that the company has ever made. Based on the Reventon, the roadster has some more awesomeness. The Reventon roadster is powered by the same engine as the Reventon.

5. Lamborghini Reventon: $1.42 Million

The Reventon (pronounced: re-ben-ton) is Lamborghini's most powerful. The company has produced only 20 units of the Reventons for the sake of exclusivity. The Lamborghini Reventon is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 producing 640 bhp. The car takes just about 3.4 seconds to reach 100kmph and does a top speed of 356 KPH.

6. Maybach Landaulet: $1.4 Million

The rich want everything: an open top car, a chauffeur and privacy. Maybach came up with something that would satisfy all these needs. The Maybach Landaulet features a stationary metal roof for the chauffer area, and a retractable one for the passenger area. The Maybach Landaulet was designed on the Maybach 62. This ultra-luxury car is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 behemoth which produces a maximum power output of 604 bhp.

7. Koenigsegg CCXR : $1.3 Million

The Koenigsegg CCXR is just another derivative of the aforementioned CCX, except that it is more powerful. But the most outstanding feature of this supercar is that it runs on Biofuel. The Koenigsegg CCXR does an impressive top speed of 400+ kmph and goes past the 'sedentary' 0-100 kmph in 2.8 seconds.

8. Koenigsegg CCX: $1.1 Million

Swedish supercar makers Koenigsegg first revealed the mid-engined roadster at the Geneva Motor Show in 2006. Equipped with a 4.7-litre supercharged V8 that produces a massive 806 bhp, the Koenigsegg CCX sure feels powerful. The car accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 3.2 seconds and does an outstanding top speed of 417 kmph. But the most amazing thing about this car is that it manages a mileage of 14 mpg in city and 18 mpg on the highway! Here is a supercar that scroes high not only in the power and speed department, but fuel economy too.

9. Leblanc Mirabeau: $765,000

Leblanc, a Switzerland based car manufacturer, located in the hills of Zurich, started making cars recently and has built two cars so far. The Mirabeau is equipped with a 4.7-litre V8 engine at the rear that produces 700 bhp. The car is definitely not one of the prettiest looking, but weighing in at 812 Kg, the car sure flies light as a feather. The lightweight helps the car move past the 0-100 kmph milestone in less than 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 370 kmph.

10. SSC Ultimate Aero: $740,000

Shelby SuperCars (SSC) introduced the Aero to the world in 2006. The SSC Ultimate Aero is equipped with a 6.2-litre V8 twin turbo engine and churns out a maximum output of 1183 bhp. Since its launch, the company has upgraded the Aero across the years. The most recent version (2009) is claimed to have a top speed of 437 kph. The Aero accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in less than 2.5 seconds! This all-American car had the reputation of being the fastest production car on the planet until the Bugatti Veyron happened.
