The award for the best component manufacturer is given to the world’s best component manufacturer Bosch. The company has a strong presence in India with about 18,000 employees and a turn over of Rs 57,000 million. Bosch is well renowned for its excellence in providing high-end automotive technologies and services. In India, the company has made its establishment in 1953 and since then it has grown exponentially continuously providing innovative technologies to the automotive sector. The fuel-efficient micro-hybrid technology in Mahindra cars is also provided by Bosch.
Best Integrated Campaigns
Best integrated campaign is given to the car manufacturer that has introduced sensible and meaningful advertisement for their cars. This award is received by
Mahindra-Renault Logan for casting new and interesting advertisements from time to time. The company keeps changing the mode, tone, and feel of the advertisements in accordance to the changes in the car as well as the trend in the car industry. The advertisement that showcases the Delhi-Ahmedabad drive reveals the high fuel efficiency of the car delivering the right message to the consumers.
Green Technology
Green technology award goes to the Mahindra & Mahindra Micro Hybrid that ensures judicious use of the natural resources. M & M had introduced a new technology in association with Bosch that helps reduce fuel consumption by about 5 to 10% especially in city driving conditions. This innovative technology shuts off the engine when the car is idle and as soon as the drive depresses the clutch system automatically starts the engine. Presently, this system is fitted in the Bolero and the Scorpio.
Design of the Year
The fourth generation BMW M3 receives the best design of the year award. The new M 3 is a distinctive symbol of
BMW’s design philosophy that reflects a harmonious relationship of design, style, form, and materials. The trunk lid and lights of the car have been carried over from the 3 Series coupe and the athletic body appeals the distinctive M character. In terms of design, the car excels the boundaries drawn by automotive designers and marks an unmistakable identity. The expressive long front of the car is designed in a way to comfortably accommodate the huge V8 engine. In addition, the wide, ultra-low profile tyres mounted on sporty alloy wheels gives an extra powerful appeal to the car.
Car Manufacturer of the Year
Hyundai is fondly declared as the car manufacturer of the year. It is the second largest manufacturer and exporter of passenger cars in the country. The car manufacturer has introduced new technologies and design concept from time to time to meet the changing tastes of the Indian car buyers. Till date, the manufacturer has launched many striking and powerful technologies to improve the destiny of automotive industry. Automotive Man of the Year
Ratan Tata receives the award for the best automotive man of the year 2008. Born in a Parsi family Ratan Tata started his career in 1971 and was pushed by his own dream of creating a passenger car in 1998. He then started his work on the dream car and introduced his first passenger car, the Tata Indica. After the launch of the Indica, he was honoured with the Padma Bushan award in 2000 and Padma Vibhushan in 2008. Last year the chairman of the Tata Group announced the launch of world’s cheapest car ‘Nano’ and since then this brave man is continuously facing challenges and hurdles to launch the car. He marked another achievement with the acquisition of the Jaguar and Land Rover. He is believed to be a man of principles and amongst the top 100 influential people in the world.
