Tata Nano
Tata Nano is the car that everyone is eagerly waiting for. The car is designed and manufactured keeping in mind the needs and demands of common man. Tagged as the world's cheapest car, Nano is the dream project of Ratan Tata.
Nano is a comfortable, safe, fuel-efficient, and all-weather people's car. It was designed with a mono-volume design and a rear powertrain. The combination of these characteristics uniquely offers space and manoeuvrability.
The car will come with an all-aluminium, two-cylinder, 623 cc engine that is fuel-efficient and low on emissions. The lean design strategy of the engine has minimized the car weight which further improves the performance and efficiency of the car. Expected at a market price of Rs 1, 30,000, Nano can reach a top speed of 110 km/h delivering a fuel efficiency of about 20 km/l. An all-sheet metal body along with an assortment of various car safety features, the Nano also meets all safety requirements. Therefore, the Nano is a perfect car for a small family.
Volkswagen Passat CC
Volkswagen Passat Comfort Coupe (CC) is believed to be launched in the first quarter of this year. This muscular coupe combines an expressive attitude of a sports coupe with the comfort of a sedan.
The coupe version of the Passat is elegantly designed by lengthening, widening, and lowering the standard Passat sedan slightly to give it an aggressive stance. The roofline of the car is dramatic with flowing lines and fairly flat radius. It has frameless side windows that are typical characteristics of a coupe. The Passat CC will be the first car in the global car industry introduced with an active lane-hold safety feature. This new safety feature will keep the car on the designed track and the Dynamic Drive Control automatic suspension will help adjust steering effort and response.
The base model will be powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The upgrade version of the car will be propelled by a 3.6-litre V6 engine fitted with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Fiat Linea
The new Fiat Linea is designed with flowing lines, Italian design cues, and sporty structure. Adorned with class leading car technologies, both the exterior and interior of the car synergistically display its outstanding character.
The exterior of the car is adorned with elongated dual-parabola headlights, a steeply raked windscreen, and large tail lamps. In addition, the prominent shoulder lines and elegant sweep from the car bonnet to the raked windscreen gives a dynamic appeal to the car. In the interiors, the car is beautified with welcoming and airy interiors including multi-function steering wheel, spacious cabin, retro-themed clock and multi-function display reading CD track, average fuel consumption of the car and distance that can be travelled by remaining fuel in the tank.
The new Linea is to be powered with a 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel engine that delivers enhanced power and improved fuel efficiency.
Honda Jazz
After introducing successful sedans in the Indian car market, Honda is all set to roll out its first small car, Honda Jazz, on Indian roads. The car is designed on the platform of all-new Honda City.
It is crafted with excellent design cues adorned with sharp lines and central bonnet ridge. The exterior of the car is further accentuated with sharp headlamps, curved roofs, raked windscreen, alloy wheels, and ellipsoidal glass area. Maruti Suzuki Splash
Maruti Suzuki Splash, rechristened as Ritz, is soon to make its debut in the Indian car market. It is ardently designed with European design cues and represents a youthful, stylish, and novel car.
The car will be introduced in three versions, two petrol versions and one diesel version. The two petrol versions will be powered with a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol unit and a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine and the diesel version will be powered with a 1.3-litre diesel engine. Available in an economical package, the car will to appeal small families because of its excellent styling, spacious cabin, and versatile interiors.
Mitsubishi Evo X
Since the first launch of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, the car has been carving its own niche in the global car market. This legendary car has passed several generations to rejoice the success it holds today. With so many generations of Evolution being rolled out, the Indian car market is soon going to witness the birth of the next incarnation of the Lancer Evolution.
This new Lancer is to be powered with an all-new 2.0-litre intercooled and turbocharged inline 4 engine that generates about 295 bhp. Some variants of the car are speculated to churn out about 500 bhp. These speed demons can be best used for rally and drag race.
GM Cruze
The
General Motors plans to launch a mid-size sedan christened as Cruze. The skilled GM’s designers have crafted the car with bold, prominent, and sporty structure adorned with two separate front grills and golden bow-tie logo.
Under the hood, the company outfits an ultra fuel-efficient 1.4-litre Ecotec engine that delivers an exceptional fuel efficiency of about 20 km/l. The 1.4-litre Ecotec turbo will come in various stages of tune ranging from 118 bhp to 138 bhp. The car with its style, performance, and impressive fuel-efficiency is expected to compete with the upcoming Toyota Prius hybrid car.
