Zenith of MDI's Technology - Fleet of Air Cars

MDI or Motor Development International is a French-based company founded in 1991 by Guy Negre. The founder of the company is a known inventor of air cars and is continuously designing various compressed air car prototypes marketed under the title “The Air Car”.

Guy Negre is a former aeronautics and Formula One race car engineer who has been working diligently with his son, Cyril, an engineer with Bugatti, along with a number of other skilled engineers to bring the Compressed Air Technology (CAT) to market. The primary aim of the MDI was to promote and develop ecological energies and produce non-pollutant vehicles.

Starting from its day of establishment till today MDI is continuously doing research and studies on the concept to prove the reliability of air cars. From the past 20 years MDI is hunting for innovative technologies and making significant modifications to bring the real air cars to the global car market. Finally, MDI has reached the zenith of success through its innovations and technologies and is all set to introduce its fleet of air cars very soon.

Earlier the term ‘CATS’ was designated to name the air cars introduced by MDI. Later on, a new name “FlowAir” was selected to identify MDI’s unique technology. The term “FlowAir” literally means ‘Flower’ in French and is evocative of company’s logo as well as the ecological mind set. Henceforth, all the air cars are suffixed with the term “FlowAir”.
Here are some of the models of air cars:

bullet  AirPod

AirPod is the technological result of MDI studies on pollution and urban mobility. This air car is intelligently designed and structured with a futuristic design, compact size, zero pollution, and low price tag. The weight of the car is believed to be less than 500 kg.

AirPod when launched in the market will be available in three variants, the standard variant, AirPod Cargo, and AirPod Baby.

The standard variant of the air car is a four-seater small car mainly designed for transportation of people. It can comfortably carry three adults and one child and also has ample of luggage room. The AirPod Cargo is mainly designed for carrying cargo from one place to another and make deliveries easy in town. AirPod Baby is the smallest of the AirPod range of cars that is mainly designed for highly congested cities. It’s a very small car that can be used for deliveries, municipal services, roads and small logistics.

bullet  OneFlowAir

OneFlowAir is another model from MDI that is designed based on the concept of industrialization. It is a low-cost and non-polluting city car fit for overpopulated and particularly polluted cities.

This air car is composed of fiberglass and a strong external chassis for improved safety. It takes two minutes to refill the air engine that has the power to accommodate mono-energy compressed air and dual-energy compressed air. With mono-energy the engine gives zero emission and a range of 100 km/h whereas with dual-energy the engine offers 30 gm of carbon dioxide and a range of 900 km/h. OneFlowAir will be launched in two variants and is expected to be the first range of air cars that will hit the global car market by spring 2009.

bullet  CityFlowAir

CityFlowAir is the actual prototype of air car that was first introduced to the market. It is designed with a flexible body to offer greater driving comfort and pleasure.

The CityFlowAir when launched in the market will be introduced with in many variants and will suit the needs of both utility and fun car. It will be 3 to 6-seater based on the type of the variant and will have a large trunk. The dashboard of the car is designed in a way that provides extra space for both driver and the passenger. The CityFlowAir will be in production a year after the production of OneFlowAir.

bullet MiniFlowAir

The MiniFlowAir is an urban 3-seater car with a capacious cabin. The car is 65 meters long with a large trunk and is both useful and pleasant. The MiniFlowAir offers good visibility and exceptional ecurity to car passengers and is soon to enter the market following the launch of CityFlowAir.

It is also believed that MDI will also introduce the convertible version of the MiniFlowAir to enhance the driving pleasure of the car.

bullet MultiFlowAir

The MultiFlowAir is a new urban concept that can be well defined as a train on wheels. This new concept comprises a small and functional driver’s car attached to several wagons especially designed for public transportation.

The innovative design of this innovative concept offers better fuel efficiency as the wagons can be removed if not required. The owner of the car will hold the power to keep as many wagons as required during a specified journey.

The driver’s car of the MultiFlowAir will possess all the control panels including thedoor openings, lights, heaters, and air conditioner. All the wagons attached to the driver’s car will be equipped with the MDI Compressed Air Engine (CAE), a compressed air tanks, and electric steering system. All these components are controlled by a networking of wires. It offers a user friendly solution to personal mobility as well as utility vehicle.
