For us human beings, a car serves the simple purpose of transporting us from point A to point B. But the case is quite different when it comes to celebrities. Celebrities don't experience the slightest flinch while shelling out their money for the fastest and the sweet rides they set their eyes upon. Be it a Porsche or a Maybach, or Rolls Royce, a cool car is must have for stars. Here is a list of top ten most expensive cars that American celebrities flaunt.

1. Jay Z- Maybach Exelero

Price Tag: $8,000,000

Jay Z has been on the of Forbes' lists every year. Little wonder then that he finds it next to nothing to buy an $8 million ride. The Maybach Exelero looks like the very close to Batmobile! He drives the Maybach Exelero in the music video of his song, "Lost One". Despite weighing over 2.66 tonnes, it can reach a speed of 218.38mph. It can accelerate from 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds. It was originally made as a one-off for Fulda Tires back in 2005, but now Maybach is manufacturing them for the general public. As long as we have celebrities with fat wads of money, it seems reasonable and smart!

2. Rapper Birdman- Bugatti Veyron

Price Tag: $2 Million

Southern rapper Birdman has treated himself to a Bugatti Veyron. Bugatti has the reputation of being not only one of the most expensive cars in the world but also the fastest street legal car on the planet. And the rapper, real name Bryan Williams, cannot stop taking pictures of him in the ride as much as possible. We've got to hand it to him-he's doing pretty well between being CEO of Cash Money Records and his own music. So a car like Bugatti is quite apt for someone whose visiting card reads "I am expensive."

3. Simon Cowell - Bugatti Veyron

Price Tag: base price is $1,700,000

Oh, we all know about Simon Cowell. He seems to be a quite cranky during American Idol shows, but you should behold him when is behind the wheels of his Bugatti Veyron. He is all smiles. This speed monster has the capability to reach 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds and up to 267.8 mph - making it the fastest in the world. Additionally, Simon also owns a Ferrari, Rolls Royce Phantom, and is on the waiting list for the 100EX Cabriolet. Guess he is as demanding in his car choices as he is as an American Idol judge!

4. Jerry Seinfeld - Porsche 959

Price Tag: $700,000

It is a common knowledge that Jerry Seinfeld is an automobile enthusiast and avid car collector and owns one of the largest Porsche collections in the world. For storage of some of his collections, he rented a hangar at the Santa Monica Airport, in Santa Monica, California, for an extended period of time during the 1990s. After his return to New York City he was involved in an extended dispute with several neighbors over the proposed building of a $1.4 million multi-story garage to contain the 46 cars. The centerpiece is a $700,000 Porsche 959, one of only 337 ever built. Too unfortunate that he cannot drive it, because the car doesn't pass US emissions test!

5. Nicholas Cage - Ferrari Enzo

Price Tag: Base price is $670,000

We cannot forget the love that Nicholas Cage showed in his movie, "Gone in Sixty Seconds". In real life too, Cage is a connoisseur. Nick Cage owned this masterpiece, but eventually had to sell it, possibly because of the massive amount of debt he's recently accrued. His Ferrari Enzo went 217 mph, or 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. The car featured a F140 Aluminum V12 Engine; only 399 have ever been produced. Probably after the movie, Cage wanted a much faster racecar for everyday life.

6. Jay Leno - Mercedes SLR McLaren

Price Tag: MSRP of $450,000

To say that Jay Leno is a huge car fan would be an understatement of the century. He has a 17,000-square-foot garage that is filled with cars such as a 1906 Stanley Steamer, a 1970 Dodge Challenger to the more recent EcoJet. In fact, Leno has so many cars that he decided to dedicate an entire website for his collection: JayLenosGarage.com. But of all, the Mercedes SLR McLaren happens to be his favorite car in his collection. He says it's the fastest car he's ever driven, saying that it is speedier than a Porsche! But seriously, even if it wasn't, would we love it any less?

7. David Beckham- Custom Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead

Price Tag- MSRP of $407,000, excluding the customized wheels or accessories.

It is a drool worthy sight when you spot David Beckham cruising around in Beverly Hills with his three sons in his fully customized Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead. This particular model features custom built 24" Savini Forged wheels, color-matched exterior trim and Beckham's "23" embroidered onto the seats.

8. P. Diddy - Maybach

Price Tag: $360,000

Sean P. Diddy Combs presented his son Justin with a gift that must be the best Sweet Sixteen gift a kid could receive-a car. Hold on, we are not talking about any car with four wheels, we are here talking about a Maybach, one of the most expensive cars on the market. The new car was aptly wrapped in a red bow, and came equipped with a driver to escort him around New York City because Justin didn't have his license yet. Definitely one of the cars that anybody would love to take their driving lessons in!

9. Paris Hilton - Bentley GT Continental

Price Tag: $285,000 diamond-encrusted dashboard made for her pink Bentley Continental GT.

Everything associated with Paris Hilton is sexy and sophisticated. So, naturally when she bought her pink Bentley Continental GT, she wanted it to be extra special. Paris ordered a $285,000 diamond-encrusted dashboard that added some much needed bling in the car. The hotel heiress bought the pink Bentley as a Christmas present for herself in December 2008. Paris said of her generous gift to herself, "I've just always wanted a pink car. I think when you're a little girl and you have the Barbie Corvette you're always like, 'Oh, I wish I had a car like this one day,' so I think it just comes from being a fan of Barbie for so long." The car can be too much of a pink even for a girl's liking, but then we are dealing with Paris Hilton here, for God's sake! Everything is pink-- the sheetmetal, grille, wheels, and most of the interior.

10. Kim Kardashian - Ferrari F430

Price - $186,925.

Kim Kardashian became famous and rich after participating in a Reality TV show. Kim is usually seen zipping around in her black Bentley Continental GT, but she owns a Ferrari F430 too. Kim makes a lot of money from various endorsements including her perfume line, diet pills and appearances. Little doubt then that affording a Bentley and Ferrari becomes a piece of cake. Other reality TV stars in also have some very ridiculously expensive cars. Becoming a reality TV star has become the latest shortcut to success.
