It was certainly a great thought by the Indian government, who before some weeks has really urged the car manufacturer's of the country to consider manufacturing car models for physically challenged people. This is a thought that has long been pending from the Indian government and it is finally a pleasure to see it happen. This modest initiative of the government could bring great changes in the lives of many physically challenged. And not only have they insisted on building cars for the physically handicapped, they have also taken further steps to actually encourage the car manufacturers to do so by giving excise duty concessions on cars meant for the physically impaired people. And this will really trigger the interest of the Indian car manufacturers to build cars to match the needs of the physically handicapped.
This list given below has a decent number of cars that could be modified or customized here and there to best suit the requirements of the physically challenged.
Honda City
The Honda City is a mid size sedan and it will be the right choice for a people who has disability in either of the limb or both of them. For equipping the car to well match the needs of a physically handicapped it needs to be modified so that both the brake and accelerator could be operated with hands. The electrical instruments and horn in the car should be made easily accessible for them by fixing it on the console of the brake lever.
Mahindra Scorpio
The Indian made Mahindra Scorpio from the Indian car manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra is a great option for those who have disability even for both their limbs.
