Follow the Traffic Ethics and be safe

India is drastically developing due to the rise in the economy. Cars are no more an expensive luxury commodity for people; it has rather become a necessity. But while all this is good and is leading the way to a more progressive and dynamic Indian public, there are still some things which we take for granted. Traffic rule is one such thing that is mostly ignored by travelers. Traffic ethics is an important part of driving and everyone should be aware of it. But it is sad to say that most of the Indians do not even follow or give importance to it. Everyone should take initial steps to follow these ethics to have a safe and good drive.

Following these rules is a challenging task. But it is worth taking this challenge because this will help to reduce the number of road accidents and mishaps. This in turn would lead to make Indian roads safer.

Some of the basic steps which can be followed to make Indian roads much more secure and safe:

  • Stop the car at the ‘STOP’ line.
  • Strictly follow the traffic lights and signals. Stop if the light is amber and it is about to change to red rather than making a desperate rush to get to the other side.
  • The Zebra crossing is for the pedestrians to cross the road and for the vehicles to stop and it is not the other way around.
  • There are other vehicles on the road too so consider the other vehicles.
  • One must move the vehicle only after the timer has reached zero and/or the lights have turned green and not inch his way across the signal after having verified that there are no policemen in sight.

In India, the issuance of car driving license is so liberal. So it is really difficult to know exactly how many drivers obtain their licenses in ill legal way. Basically such people are not aware of the traffic ethics and end up in big mishaps. This is the major reason of the car accidents happening in Indian roads.

The problem is that no one initiates in following these ethics in spite they watch others and behave the same way in the road. Its not that they don’t know but they are least bothered to follow these rules. For instance, when rule was made compulsory in Bangalore that every motorist is supposed to use helmets, most of them took it lightly, but started following it once they were fined But it is not same in other countries, there traffic guidelines are very stringent and strictly followed.. This shows that money matters more than once life. So making the rules is not important but following them makes a difference. Follow the rule and save yourself and other lives as every breath is precious.
