Mahindra & Mahindra laid its foundation stone in Indian when K.C. Mahindra first visited the United States of America as Chairman of the India Supply Mission. There he met Barney Roos who flashed inspiration and imparted a burning desire to the heart and mind of K.C. Mahindra. Barney Roos was a renowned inventor of Jeep, a car that was invincibly used on the battlefields of World War II. Inspired by the sturdy and powerful Jeep, Mr. Mahindra decided to take the idea to his home country and manufacture a similar car, perfect for the Indian roads.
Inspiration and aspiration flooded the hearts of Mahindra brothers who in collaboration with Ghulam Mohammed established a franchise, baptized as Mahindra & Mohammed, on 2nd October 1945. The franchise was set up to assemble jeeps from Willys, USA.
Everything was going as per the plans but unfortunately a major setback started hovering dark clouds over the company in 1947, year proudly known for Indian Independence. Unfortunately, post-partition took Ghulam Mohammed to Pakistan but fortunately, Mahindra continued on the same path with assiduous efforts. The company was then re-named Mahindra & Mahindra.
Since then, the company has never turned back and has continuously moved ahead with enduring hopes and expectations to reach industrial progress and global recognition. Today, Mahindra has evolved into a premium
SUV and MUV manufacturer with a slew of cars in the Indian car market. The three Mahindra cars zipped on Indian roads are Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Maxx, and Mahindra Scorpio. All these cars are available with a variety of versions in India, delivering best driving performance and excellent fuel efficiency on both on-road and off-road conditions.
Mahindra Bolero is available as Bolero, Bolero Camper, and Bolero Pick-Up; Mahindra Maxx is available as Maxx, Maxx Maxi Truck, Maxx Pick-Up, and Maxx Pick-Up Chassis; and Mahindra Scorpio as Scorpio, Scorpio Gateway, and Scorpio mHawk. Mahindra Scorpio mHawk is the latest addition by the company in the Indian car market and is adorned with brilliant styling, enhanced performance and excellent drivability.
In the present scenario, Mahindra & Mahindra has a total turnover of about 6 billion dollars. The company since 1945 has continuously moved on with engaged ambition, sustained penetration into global arena, and highly motivated spirit. The company encapsulates its ambition, inspiration, and spirit from the golden words of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru:
