Increasing fuel prices and higher pollution counts are major concerns in the auto market, especially since it is unimaginable to travel without transport in today’s world. Therefore, the Indian government took an initiative to protect the environment. In certain states, the government has introduced the LPG version of fuel intake and made it mandatory for all the public transport vehicles. If all public transportations in India run on either LPG or CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), it will be a positive step towards ensuring a greener tomorrow.
However, LPG/CNG users do face a few adversities. One should be extremely careful while opting for a LPG/CNG kit. Some unauthorized LPG/CNG kits that lack warranty and safety features are making rounds in the auto market, leading to poor performance of the vehicle and major compromises on safety. Ensuring that the product is bought from an authorized dealer takes care of these problems.
Authorized dealers fit the equipment and issue a legal certificate that validates the numbers on the kit and other details. Car owners have to take their vehicle to the Transport authorities and show them this certificate issued by the dealer. The officials verify the same and make an affirmation in the RC book.
An LPG version is always the first choice because it is easily available compared to CNG, which can be found only in 42 cities. Also, LPG is cheaper and easy to store than CNG. However, CNG gives better performance and power compared to LPG. This means that CNG is the best option for commercial vehicles, whereas LPG is a great choice for private vehicles.
