The North Yungas Road is also known as El Camino de la Muerte which means “Road of Death” is Spanish. This road runs for 69 km from La Paz to Coroico in the Yungas region of Bolivia. Driving on this road will give you a nerve-tingling experience as it winds through very steep hillsides and atop cliffs. Moreover, most part of the road is not wider than 3.2 meters. The road was built in the 1930s during the Chaco War by Paraguayan prisoners.

Guoliang Tunnel in China
After North Yungas in Bolivia, we bring you the Guoliang Tunnel located high up on the Taihang Mountains in China. The road is like a little cavern on the side of a mountain with holes of various shapes and sizes acting as windows. The road will offer you a thrilling ride and a view like none other in the world as you feel transported to an ancient and mystical land. The Guoliang Tunnel has been built by thirteen villagers to be linked with the outside world in 1972. They dug a tunnel through the rocky cliff of Taihang Mountains. It took them five years to finish the 1,200-metre-long tunnel which is about 5 meters high and 4 meters wide. On May 1, 1977, the tunnel was opened to traffic.
