Variety of Cars in Indian Automobile Industry

In the recent years, Indian car industry has experienced a tremendous growth along with increased number of car users. The industry is flourishing in a good space comprising cars with innovative technologies and advanced features than ever before. Car manufacturers are having a tough time due to competition in the car market with the influx of many foreign players in India.

Since the launch of first car in Indian market, it has seen many models from different segment, few of which were successfully make their place in the industry and is still glowing in Indian roads. Small car Maruti 800 from the house of Maruti Udyog is the largest selling car in India.

Currently, Indian car industry falls in the 17th position amongst car manufacturing industry across the world. With the ever-rising demand of cars, off late the production of cars are also touching sky. The credit goes to the huge export potential and the support from the Government. Analysing the growth of Indian car industry, experts believe that, with the growing potential, India is expected to become third largest auto car manufacturing hub in the world by 2020.

Hatchback is a term used to define a small passenger car with a full-height door at the rear including a window used from behind to access the cargo and luggage space. Normally, they have two rows of seat and sometimes come with five-door including four accesses doors and one tailgate. These compact cars is very popular among the price conscious India consumers and it sell like hot cakes in the country. In India, hatchbacks are the most competitive segment and some of the car brands that flaunt in this class are Maruti, Hyundai, Tata, Chevrolet, and Fiat. Previously known as Saloon, sedan is a car body type with a passenger capacity of four or even more people. It has two row seats with four doors and a separate trunk. Usually cars from this segment are little expensive and are housed with loads of luxury features like high-end entertainment system, integrated steering wheel, high-class wood and leather work, classy finish, and advanced safety devices.
