Toyota Corolla is the best selling sedan in the luxury car market. Continuing the generations of Toyota Corolla, Toyota Kirloskar recently introduced the tenth generation Corolla, christened as Toyota Corolla Altis.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited is a joint venture between Kirloskar Group and Toyota Motor Corporation. The joint venture desires to play a vital role in the growth and development of the automotive industry.  The company has a firm belief that the success of this venture is attributed to the high quality products and service they provide to their esteemed customers. The company has an obsession with perfection and is recognized by various institutions such as JD Power and TNS Automotive.

Old Toyota Corolla

The old Toyota Corolla, ninth generation Corolla, is a wonderful sedan with advanced safety and attractive features. The old Corolla has smooth curved bodyline with slanted headlights, spacious cabin, attractive interiors, and well-planted seats. Dual tone colour scheme, leather seats, steering wheel mounted audio controls, wood trims, and chrome highlights add to the elegance and charm of the car interiors.

The old car is propelled by 1.8L engine that delivers a maximum power of 123 bhp. Available at a price of about Rs 9.17 lakh, the car delivers fuel economy of about 9 km per litre in city and about 13 km per litre on highways. Seats are comfortable with the power to absorb road undulations and offer a joyful driving experience. Some of the standard safety features equipped in the car is anti-lock brakes, keyless entry, and airbags.

Changes to the ninth-generation Corolla were restricted with only a few additions and comparable features. Some of the notable changes in the ninth generation of Corolla include side curtain airbags, stability control and a JBL audio system. The car had high degree of reliability and performance as compared to the older generation. Even the acceleration and transmission was beyond compare but the tenth generation Corolla is above all.

New Corolla Altis

Even though the old Corolla rates among the best of luxury sedan in the Indian and global car market, the new Toyota Corolla Altis, tenth generation Corolla, is much superior to the old model in all aspects. The new car is ardently designed to inspire envy. Cutting edge aerodynamics, smooth lines, elegant curves and striking lamps makes the new car look enticing and stunning. The body of the new Corolla is 10mm longer, 60mm wider and 20mm lower than the old model that adds an extra space in the interior.

The all new Corolla Altis is adorned with luxuries of the highest order. Spacious interiors, impeccable leather seats, 8 way power driver seat with power lumbar support, multi-information display for comprehensive reading, and ample legroom and headroom, all adds to the beauty and charm of the car interiors. Premium audio system with 6-CD changer is elegantly fitted with the audio controls mounted on the steering wheel.

Priced at Rs 13 lakh, Altis offers a wonderful opportunity to hit the road with silky smooth performance. Akin to the old model, new model is also propelled by 1.8.L engine but obviously the new one delivers better performance because of the advanced VVTi engine that yields a maximum power of about 130 bhp, 7 bhp higher than the earlier model. The intelligently designed Super ECT transmission with sequential shift delivers a breathtaking, smooth and joyful driving experience. Enhanced with many advanced features to suit to Indian conditions, Corolla Altis gives a mileage of about 15 km a litre, which is 2 km a litre more than the old Corolla. A host of thoughtful safety features like anti lock brakes with the EBD (electronic brake force distribution), striking HID (high intensity discharge), electro-chromatic rear view mirror, GOA (global outstanding assessment) body structure, dual SRS (Supplemental Restraint Systems ) airbags, and WIL (Whiplash Injury Lessening ) concept seats.
