Exotic Cars in the Indian Future

A peep into the global car industry will reveal that the industry is adorned with glamour, exotic concepts, practical and fuel-efficient cars, and futuristic sports car. There are ample of cars in the market, a look of which may grasp every breath.

When talking about the Indian car market, there are a number of exotic and high-end luxury cars with high visual appeal and class-leading efficiency. The numbers are on a continuous upward scale with Indian consumers appreciating and accepting these premium luxury cars. Luxury is no more restricted to sedans or saloons, but has extended its legs on small, compact, and fuel-efficient cars. Maruti Suzuki A-star and Hyundai i20 are live examples of luxury in compact cars.

Though there are so many luxurious cars in India, the industry still demands for highly efficient, eco-friendly, and practical cars ideal for Indian market. As the demand grows, car consumers are being driven towards exotic concepts with a pack of innovations and technologies.

Taking a quick sweep over the exotic concepts around the world, the Indian car industry recognizes some of these that could be a significant part of the Indian future.
Here are some of the exotic cars ideal for Indian car market:

bullet  Toyota iQ

Toyota iQ is believed to be smaller than the proposed Tata Nano. Being a compact car, it’s very much ideal for Indian road conditions as the industry is gradually moving towards small concepts. Key factors contributing to the growth of small cars in the industry is the increasing traffic problems and growing demand of fuel-efficient cars.

The stylish, dynamic, and contemporary compact car is adorned with various winning characteristics introduced by the Japanese engineers. These characteristics include center-take off steering gear, spacious cabin, integrated head restraints, thin high fuel tank, large 15-inch alloy wheels, slim seatbacks, asymmetrical design of the dashboard, and integrated HVAC unit. This compact car is powered by a 1-litre VVT-I petrol and 1.4 litre common rail-diesel engine mated with manual transmission. It is also known that the car emits less than 100 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer, thereby reducing the level of harmful emissions.

The iQ may be a small car but is loaded with a pack of futuristic features and advanced car safety technologies.

bullet  Nissan Pixo

Though the name is new, the car is not new for the Indian car market. Nissan Pixo is just another name given to the newly launched Maruti Suzuki A-star. The only difference in Nissan’s small car is a new nose and a Nissan badge.

Nissan Pixo is as impressive and powerful as the A-star. The new nose of the Pixo is because of slight modifications in the bumper and a new front grille. Designed by Maruti Suzuki the car ensures reliability and dependability. It makes much sense to drive the car to the Indian car market with a small structure, Nissan badge, and slight modifications. As the Indian roads are becoming more crowded, the ease of parking and fitting well in the traffic jams is a major concern for car drivers. Nissan’s small car with good visibility, manageability, and ease of parking are some of the key factors that would surely endear the car to Indian car customers.

The engine, transmission, and rest of the car interiors are same as that of A-star. This ensures that the Pixo will also have impressive mileage, comfortable interiors, and pleasurable driving feel.

bullet Ford Ka

Ford Ka is a brainchild of the joint venture between Ford and Fiat. The car is based on the Fiat 500 platform and will be manufactured on the same assembly lines as that of the 500.

If a car like Fiat 500 can make its debut in the Indian car market, then Ford Ka can also make its entry in the same market. This is mainly because the car will use the same Fiat engines, the 1.2 litre petrol and 1.3 litre diesel, which are used by Maruti Suzuki and General Motors for some of its car models. It is known that these engines by Fiat are the top most selling engines in the automotive market.

Designed with funky design and youthful characteristics, Ford Ka is adorned with sporty interiors, raised centre console, vibrant colours, sleek dashboard, and specious leg room. In the European market it is believed to come loaded with a pack of advanced safety features, giving special emphasis to safety standards and driving pleasure.

bullet Mitsubishi iMiEV

After the launch of Mitsubishi Outlander, Mitsubishi iMiEV should be brought to India. The car is perfectly sized for Indian roads with a length and width of 3.4 m and 2.5 m wheelbase. In addition, light-weight of the car, tight turning radius, and zippy performance makes the car more appealing and ideal for city chores. This car is powered by tiny 600 cc turbo-charged engine with 3 cylinders, delivering maximum power of 65 bhp.

Recently, the electric version of this car was showcased at Paris Auto Show. The concept used a 47 kW motor and a lithium ion battery that can easily be charged at home or a parking lot from an ordinary electric outlet. This frugal electric car can reach a top speed of 130 km/h and has a range of 130 km. Both the versions are fit and flawless for India.
