The Volvo has spent almost 70 years in introducing the best safety features for the entire range of its car models. The skilled engineers have laid a foundation of Volvo’s crash test research, termed as ‘circle of life’. The complete safety base revolves around one circular path.

This is believed to be one of the few car manufacturers who have their own accident research team to research on real-life accidents and discover the causes and impact of car accidents along with safety measures. After the study, the engineers design components and systems to suit the safety requirements set out during the research. Thereafter, all the cars undergo testing. Just to ensure higher safety of life, Volvo has heavily invested in a high-tech Safety Centre. If the car does not pass the test phase, these are reconstructed and if they pass, the model as well as the safety innovations undergoes production.

Volvo cars are also loaded with various types of revolutionary preventive safety systems including Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC), and Electronic Brake Distribution (DSTC).

Producing environment-friendly cars has also been a driving force for Volvo. The company feels that engines are not the only components that produce emissions but the materials used to manufacture safety seat belts, dashboards, door panels and other car parts also contribute to environmental pollution.

The Volvo uses earth-friendly fabrics, threads, and carpets for car seat covers, seat belts, and other upholsteries. The company delivers clean car interiors along with advanced filters equipped with Interior Air Quality System that monitors the amount of unhealthy gases and pollutants from entering the cabin.

The company has also tried to cut down emissions by introducing advanced engine technology and treatments that eliminate nearly about 95% to 99% of the automotive emissions from exhaust gases. Use of flexi-fuel ethanol-burning engines has further helped Volvo to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
