Automated Future of Indian Car Industry

Peep behind the veil of advancement and innovation. A pack of old car models, age old features and high end concentration dominates the Indian car industry. Cars introduced in the olden days lack safety standards, automated features, and an endless list of innovative and upmarket car accessories that today have become the backbone of Indian car industry.

With a range of futuristic features, a number of automated features have hit the Indian car industry. These include the automatic transmission, GPRS system, and a couple of safety features.
Automatic transmission is as good as a driverless car that works on the concept of highly automated cognitive and control technologies. Cars today are scientifically and technologically tuned with this new transmission system that help cars to alter their speed in accordance to the road condition and requirement. Most of the drivers are at ease when driving automatic cars.

GPRS system is one of the best technologies in the present day car market. It helps the driver to reach the desired destination without losing the way and getting stuck in the traffic. It displays the simplest route for the ease and comfort of driver.

The most advanced and effective safety features comprise anti-lock brakes and the airbags. Antilock braking system is a good device found in almost al new cars available in India. This works automatically when the car is about to skid by preventing the wheels from locking. Another innovative safety feature is the airbags, a feature that knows when to transform into a gas-inflated cushion to protect the car passengers from the impact of a collision.

All these automatic features and many other are deeply connected with sensors and driven by computers to guide the road and warn about the obstacles ahead.

Sometimes it really becomes difficult for people to digest the fact that engineering and technology has advanced to such an incredible height that have been successful in designing such automated features for cars.

Gradually, the trend of these features is increasing in the Indian car industry. The cars are becoming almost independent of driver’s control. It’s good to know that technology is advancing but are automated automobiles the future of Indian car industry? The reality is completely different from people think. No one can ever close their eyes and rely completely on technologies running their cars. It’s just impossible to trust computers to protect life of a car driver.

Partial automation, on the other hand, is likely to catch hold of the industry in near future. Most of the Indian cars are already loaded with such features and some are in line with better and extra-ordinary features. However, to run the automatic transmission driver has to move a gear, to enhance the power of anti-lock brakes driver has to release the brake pedals, and to make use of cruise control driver should be reactive. Nothing till date is completely automated and neither will it be in future.

At ever stage of automation, driver’s supervision and concentration is essential as automation itself requires an inevitable control system.
