Manali – Leh Highway
The Manali-Leh Highway gives travellers the excitement of serene adventure and blissfulness. The sinuous road goes through five high altitude passes. The Lahaul - Spiti route makes for a pleasant drive. Lahaul is situated amidst a mass of high mountains and cascading glaciers. Chandra and Bhaga rivers originate at Baralacha La and flow through the valleys named after them. This place is located at the crossroads of Manali-Leh and Lahaul - Spiti. Witness the beauty of dune-like innumerable hillocks interspersed with green fields and snow-capped peaks. The valley is perched at an altitude of 2,745-metre. You can expend your vacations as summer is cool and pleasant here. Visit the valleys from July to September.
The Garhwal Jeep Safari
The Jeep safari will take you into the region of religious shrines. The Himalayas have always been associated with the Indian culture since history was written. The region is replete with the most revered Hindu shrines. Visit the holy shrine of Badrinath in the comfort of your jeep. The white snow blanket over the hills and plateaus inspires awe and the extensive valleys offer a great view. You can also visit Auli, one of the few places known for winter sports. It has a cable car service and you can enjoy a jeep safari from May to October.
Harsil
Harsil of Uttaranchal is a beautiful place to experience boundless nature. The place is also known for its delicious apples. You can drive your way through the unending stretch of green grass. Harsil is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Situated at a height of 2800m above the sea level, it is merely 25 km away from Gangotri, the birthplace of the great Ganges. A small town with a sparse population, Harsil can be made a base for exploring nearby areas. Breathtaking views of snow-clad mountains surround the town.
Shimla – Narkanda
Shimla is known for its New Year snowfalls, while the Narkanda is called the fruit basket of Himachal Pradesh. The orchards of apple, pear, and cherry will fill you with a fruity smell. You can easily spot baskets and crates of fruits all along the route. The Himalayan evenings are mesmerizing in its full grandeur with the sun diffusing the hues of red, crimson, orange, and violet over the horizon. Drive to this place between May and June. It is only 440 kms from Delhi.
