New Maruti Suzuki Wagon R
The new
Wagon R is not very different from the currently available car, but it is expected to be launched in India soon. The car has already been launched in Japan. The changes will include a renovated headlamp, a honeycomb mesh grille and a new bumper. But the boxy design of the car is retained. The engine option is expected to remain the same, a 1.1-litre petrol engine. And the price is also expected to rise a little bit, making the approximate pricing of the car between Rs. 3.5 and Rs. 5 lakh. The new Wagon R is expected this Diwali.
Volkswagen Polo
The Polo is the most celebrated small car that is expecting launch. The Polo will share its engine with
Skoda Fabia. There will be three engine options two petrol and a diesel variant. The two petrol variants include a 1.2-litre engine and a 1.4-litre engine and a single diesel variant, 1.4-litr TDI diesel mill. But the diesel variant is expected to be launched depending on the response for the petrol variant. The main competitors of
VW Polo will be Fiat Grande Punto, Hyundai i20 CRDi, etc. There are many speculations about the pricing but it could range from Rs. 4 lakh to Rs. 7 lakh. And the launch date is supposed to be the sometime the mid of next year. So let us keep our fingers crossed for an early launch.
New Maruti Suzuki Alto
Alto has been always the magic pot for Maruti. The car has won millions of hearts in India. And now the car is expected to receive some minor facelifts. These facelifts are done so as to catch up with the latest car styling trends. The all-time favourite
Alto will receive changes to its fog lamp mounts and bumpers on the exteriors and the interiors will receive a two-tone finish on top end variants. And the price could be anything from Rs.2.5 lakh to Rs.3.5 lakh.
Hyundai i30
The i30 will be a true European in design. The car will have a premium crafted interiors and exteriors. It is scheduled to be launched this year end. The car is supposed to be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant of the i30 will have a 1.4-litre petrol engine and the diesel variant will have a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The car will have a high price tag. It will be priced between Rs. 7.5 lakh and Rs.9 lakh.
Renault Sandero
The Sandero is built on the same platform as the
Renault Logan. And it has a decent pricing with the features of a premium hatchback. With its comfortable and spacious interiors and smartly designed exteriors, the Sandero is a good bet for pricing that ranges from Rs.4.5 lakh to Rs. 6 lakh. It will be powered by a 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol engines and a 1.5-litre dCi
diesel engine. The car is expected to be available in India some time towards the end of this year or the beginning of next year. But with Renault not doing a satisfactory business in India it is still not sure whether the company will launch this new model.
Chevrolet Beat
The Beat was first unveiled at the New York Auto Show two years back. This sporty looking car has been designed in completely in South Korea. In India, the car will be most probably manufactured at the GM’s plant. There will be only petrol versions of the car available. And the two variants would be 1.2-litre and 1.0-litre petrol. The
Chevy Beat will have Hyundai i10 and
Maruti Suzuki A-star as its competitors. And the expected launch date is the end of this year.
Nissan Pixo
Pixo holds the key to Nissan’s Indian small car market. The company has already launched the facelifted models of
X-trial and Teana on September 16, 2009, just a week back. And Nissan is expected to launch the Pixo towards the end of this year. The surprising fact would be that it will share its engine with Maruti’s top selling model A-star. It will have a similar 1.0-litre
KB series petrol engine. The car will be more eco-friendly with less carbon dioxide emission. The car is expected to be available for a price between Rs. 3.5 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh.
Toyota Yaris
The success of
Fortuner has given Toyota great amount of confidence and this will help the company in bringing out the new small car Yaris from its stable. The company is planning to launch the Yaris late 2009 or early 2010. This funky designed car will compete against the
Fiat Grande Punto, Honda Jazz and the upcoming Ford Fiesta Hatch. The car will be available in petrol and diesel variants. It will have a 1.0-litre and 1.3-litre petrol variants and 1.4-litre D4-D diesel variant. The pricing of the car will range between Rs. 5.5 lakh and Rs.7 lakh.
