Hybrid Cars or Conventional Cars – which one is better?
Hybrid car is a winning combination of tradition, technology, advancement and innovation. The world’s leading auto majors today are racing for producing outstanding hybrid cars.
The true hybrid car is a blend of conventional and electric engine, fusing cleaner energy of electric motors with powered gasoline engines. The demand of these cars grew with the increasing percentage of environmental pollution and other inflationary pressures like a leap in fuel prices. These cars are as efficient as the conventional cars. Infact, they are more reliable, safer and comfortable to drive.
In the recent few years, hybrid cars are gaining prominence across the globe. The cost of production is competitive enough to make the portfolio of these cars affordable to most sections of the society. Apart from the lower cost of production, innovation and advancement in technology has also given a push to the increasing number of hybrids on roads.
Here are some of the major factors that hold the esteem, worth and demand of hybrid cars over conventional cars:
Saving Fuel
One of the greatest advantages of hybrid cars is saving fuel or gas. With a functional electric engine, these cars run more on electric energy and help a great deal in saving fuel. These cars are loaded with a significant feature that automatically shut down the gasoline engine when the car stops and starts when the car gets accelerated, thus reducing the dependency on crude oil.
Environment Friendly
A hybrid car greatly reduces the amount of harmful emission due to innovative electric technology. These cars emit lower toxic emissions because less gasoline or fuel is burned in running the cars. This eventually keeps the environment clean. On the other hand, conventional cars burn gasoline to run and emit a huge percentage of harmful carbon dioxide that results in global warming.
Economic Benefits
Most of the countries have reduced tax credited on hybrid cars. Tax incentives are made depending on the hybrid models, fuel efficiency and cost of production. India is yet to get such policies.
Cost Effective
When it comes to cost-effectiveness, hybrid cars are obviously more expensive than conventional cars because of the advanced electrical technology and a complex internal design. One disadvantage cannot beat other high scoring advantages of these cars. The worth and esteem of these cars is there and will definitely grow higher in the coming years. If thoughts can go beyond imagination, then trust that hybrid cars will definitely reap long term benefits.
Though, currently India has only one hybrid car ‘Civic Hybrid’ , other car manufacturers are too interested in trying their hands in this segment. Hyundai being one of them have recently announced its plan to introduce a hybrid version of Avante and Sonata in India. Well, it seems India is soon to witness a good growth in the hybrid car market.
