Mercedes runs faster as Sales Fly High

India is no longer in the list of countries which are buying just a handful of Mercedes. The demand for Mercedes in India has raised the sale. The car has become the apple of eye for Indian car buyers.
When one thinks about luxury car, the first name that crops up is Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes has always enjoyed a status symbol over a century and is not matched by any other car manufacturer in the world. The company owned by Daimler Motors has sold more than 1,300 units in just four months.

This is the first time that the company managed to get four figure sales in just three months. The credit goes to the redesigned and newly launched C-class. The Merc C Class sold 681 units against 779 units sold during the entire 2007. As the booking number is growing significantly, Mercedes is now planning to set up a production facility in India.

Mercedes is loved by youngsters. Most of those who bought Mercedes were young entrepreneurs and software professionals. In order to push sales further, Mercedes has devised attractive financial schemes.

After its success in Indian car market, the company is now setting up a plant at Chakan in Pune over a 100 acre plot. The facility will have a capacity to manufacture 5000 passenger cars and 1200 commercial vehicles per annum. It is also planning to manufacture luxury buses in India.

Mercedes is aiming higher every year. It is likely to move into several other categories of vehicles if its gets favourable response. Mercedes has become the new status symbol of the rich in India. The best part of the car is that the buyer can rely on the quality, even though one has to pay a hefty price to own it.
