The Changing face of automobiles

Human being, the most intelligent animal has fulfilled his every dream from flying like birds to running faster like winds. From ages the human race are discovering and innovating new things which has changed our life. Among these the most striking is the invention of wheel. The invention of cars has changed the perspective of journey. With the passage of time it has now become a luxury item from just a mode for transport. At present we have wide option to choose.

The first motor car hit the Indian roads in the year 1898 and then there started the growth of Indian auto market. In 1942 Hindustan Motors (HM) was set up and in 1944 Premier Autobackmobile (PAL) was established to manufacture automobiles in India produced the first car in India in 1946. It was Mahindra and Mahindra which took the responsibility of manufacturing the rugged looking utility vehicles namely the American Jeep. But in 50’s the Indian government approved only seven car dealers to operate in India.

It was in 80s, when Indian car industry saw a major revival with foreign manufacturers and collaborators pouring in. The period of 90's was the turning point where the end consumer was given the authority with the makers giving various options to select.

An average Indian dream car may not be the design-savvy Honda or the stately Limousine, but he can sure dream and afford, the Maruti now. And now with lots of options in various segments from small car to luxury cars there has been a wide range of selection. It will be amazing to know that at present India have 19 makes, 83 models & 303 variants. The demand for the car has gone to such an extent that price is no more a concern now. The success of Indian automobile industry is so prominent that the foreign car makers are paving their way into the market with all the luxury cars like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Rolls Royce, Volkswagen etc. Now car has become a fashion statement from merely a mode of transport with the availability of designer cars. Various car accessories are available in market to give make over to the car.

With growing Indian economy, cars are becoming constant trend and status symbol in the society. Along with the increasing population, the demand for car is also increasing. The Indian car manufacturer are bringing new surprises with every new model and are also experimenting with latest technologies to give something exciting to those who are ready to drive their dream car.
